 Rack N Ride Video Minimize

Bike racks were recently installed on the front of all buses that operate on the fixed routes.  Greenlink and the City of Greenville plan to install more bike racks so that someone can ride their bike to a bus stop, place the bike on the bus rack, and then ride their bike from the bus stop to their destination.

10/2/09 - New Greelink Policy to Eliminates Flag Stop to Improve Safety and Efficiency

Beginning Monday, October 5, Greenlink will enact a new policy that implements a dedicated stop system, thus eliminating so-called “flag stops.” Flag stops occur whenever a bus passenger can flag down a bus to obtain a ride at any point along the bus route. Flag stops make it virtually impossible to run an on-time system. With this new system, Greenlink drivers will only stop the buses at designated bus stops and passengers will no longer be able to get on or off the buses between stops. The Greenville Transit Authority, the City of Greenville and Greenville County are currently working together to install new Greenlink bus stop signs at every stop so that passengers will know exactly where to wait for the bus and will have a safe place to be while they wait. Approximately 400 new signs have been installed.
