New Greenlink Policy Eliminates Flag Stops to Improve Safety and Efficiency -

Greenlink has implemented a dedicated stop system, thus eliminating so-called "flag stops." Flag stops occur whenever a bus passenger can flg down a bus to obtain a ride at any point along the bus route. The stops make it virtually impossible to run an on-time system.

 Grant Funding Minimize

New Freedom Grant Award Announced

Greenlink is pleased to announce a successful applicant for the New Freedom funding program during the abbreviated funding cycle. The abbreviated funding cycle began April 1st and ended April 19th. The successful applicant is the City of Greenville’s Department of Parks and Recreation. They were awarded a total of $56,886.00. $48,000.00 of this amount will be allocated towards 80% of the cost of purchasing a 16-passenger bus for the David Hellum’s Community Center. $8,886 will be used to cover 50% of the cost of operating the bus. Who can apply? For JARC, any organization (private or nonprofit) that offers transit service or is interested in offering transit service to under-resourced individuals to assist with commuting from their place of residence to their place of employment and back. For the New Freedom funding category, any similar organization that offers or seeks to offer transit service for elderly and disabled individuals may apply.

Greenlink offers 11 fixed routes to destinations all across Greenville County. All Greenlink buses are wheelchair accessible, and each Greenlink bus is equipped with a bike rack to make commuting easier for bike riders.  The Greenlink system also features GAP, a complimentary ADA paratransit service provided for individuals who, because of their disability, are unable to use Greenlink's fixed route bus service.      

Public transportation is everyone’s business. We need your help to make Greenlink the best transit system it can be, so please email us your questions, comments and suggestions for improvement.  And, most of all:  Ride Greenlink!

Notice to Our Passengers:

 Beginning Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, bus operators will only stop at designated bus stops. Passengers will no longer be able to get on or off the bus between stops. This new Greenlink policy is designed to help keep you safer and keep buses running on time. Thank you for your cooperation! More Information
